I sit in front of the television, looking, waiting. My favorite show is on; I am 4 years old. The cookie monster is on, gobbling his cookies. Big Bird was next, singing and talking about random things. Being 4 my favorite was Elmo, of course. Elmo’s world was and always will be the best part of Sesame Street. He was red and nice, always had manners and was always singing! If he was human, I would’ve married him at the age of 4. Oh, how I loved Elmo. Now, I have no time to watch Elmo, or Sesame Street at all. It’s been 13 years, now I have to watch shows that I can relate to. I would have to be in front of a television, while I was at school to even catch a little bit of Elmo. Those memories slowly drift away, and new one’s replace them. It’s almost as if they didn’t exsit, except for when those images trigger my memory!
Poem:
Looking
Waiting
My favorite show is on
I am 4 years old
The cookie monster is on
gobbling his cookies
Big Bird was next
Singing and Talking
About random things
Being 4 my favorite was Elmo
Of course
Elmo's world was and always will be
The best part of Sesame Street
He was red
And nice
Always had manners
And was always singing!
If he was human
I would've married him
At the age of 4
Oh how I loved Elmo
Now I have no time to watch Elmo
Or Sesame Street at all
It's been 13 years
Now I have to watch show that I can relate to
I would have to be in front of a television
While I was at school
To even catch a little bit of Elmo
Those memories slowly drift away
And new one's replace them
It's almost as if they didn't exsit
Except for when those images trigger my memory!

I love how you were reminded of your four-year-old self...and that you would have married Elmo. Adorable.
